The director of the Center for Behavioral Medicine, general
psychiatrist Matthew S. Stubblefield, MD has served the Northern California
area in his outpatient psychiatric practices for the past 12 years. His
currently has clinics in Palo Alto and Santa Rosa.
Dr. Stubblefield is probably best known for his expertise in diagnosing and
treating ADD/ADHD and related disorders. Diagnosed and treated for ADD
himself, he brings a unique perspective and understanding to those he sees
professionally.
Dr. Stubblefield completed his Bachelors Degree in Psychobiology at UCLA before
receiving his Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of
Medicine. He finished his residency in general psychiatry at the
University of California, Irvine (UCI), where he first became interested and
conducted research in functional brain imaging and its use in psychiatry.
After residency, Dr. Stubblefield joined internationally recognized
neuropsychiatrist and best-selling author Daniel Amen, MD at the Amen Clinic
for Behavioral Medicine in Fairfield, California. There Dr. Stubblefield
continued his research in SPECT brain imaging and its utility in clinical
practice. Along with publishing his research, he received national
recognition when he presenting his findings at the American Psychiatric
Association (APA) annual meeting in Washington, DC in 1999.
A keynote speaker, Dr. Stubblefield has spoken to numerous audiences on
ADD/ADHD, SPECT brain imaging, and related topics. He has lectured at
national conferences, universities, and professional forums around the
country. Dr. Stubblefield continues to speak periodically around
the Northern California area.
Dr. Stubblefield expanded his practice recently to include a second Santa Rosa
office, as well as welcomed another associate psychiatrist to join him at his
Palo Alto location. |
